Clamming at Deep Creek Alaska

Yes some of us eat them raw on the beach! (emma did not though)

We took the kids clamming for Razer Clams on saturday. You have to go out on a really negative tide in the ocean. You have to dig down 12-24 inches to get the clams, you start digging with a shovel and finish with your hands. You have to be fast, the clams are burrowing down almost faster than you can dig. So its a fun game. The kids also like to find star fish, crabs, and all sorts of things in the tide pools. It was a little cold this time, but the kids had fun. We got alot of clams and came home and made clam chowder.

Soldotna Mariners

Here are a few pics of Dave playing baseball. He was the #1 pick. They had to have a draft for him because every coach at tryouts had him as #1. He is very good. He is the best at every position. They change him up alot depending on how the game is going. Mostly he pitches though. He seems to love the sport and it comes natural to him.

Dave takes one for the team

Dave is 1st baseman, he was determined to get the player out at the bag.
