Adam and Eve

So tonight is Christmas Eve. We all get to open one present (even though we always know it's going to be P.J.'s) So Emma was looking under the tree for them and says
"Hey mom, how do we know which one is for tonight?"
Grandma said, "just look for the one that says EVE on it."
Dave pipes in with "well I guess I am looking for one that says ADAM then!!!"
Its was so funny!!

Christmas Eve 2007

Dave wants everyone to know that Christ was not really born on Christmas, it was really April 6, the same day he died and the same day the Church was organized and the same day that the shepherds were watching their flocks by night because the sheep were giving birth. And now the same day Andy was born. Merry Christmas, it's not about getting presents it's about being nice to other people! That's all, Love Dave

Emma says Christmas is wonderful but it's not all about toys.
It's about Jesus' birthday. She also wrote a poem she wants to share.
Emma's poem:
robins are red
frogs are green
frogs hoop around
and birds sing

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas......

Emma didn't want to get on the ladder so much, she opted for the window clings.

I sat on sannta's lape and got a candiecane and a magigk bok's and a woodin car that you can make into a rase car. ~from emma

We had our Sterling Ward Christmas party. Santa visited the kids. Dave and Emma thought he sounded just like grandpa......hmmmm

Stonehenge England

We went to Stonehenge for our last day. It rained really hard and the wind was blowing so much that it actually destroyed a couple of our umbrellas. Mary's umbrella lost the handle in the wind.
Archaelogists believe that the standing stones were erected around 2200 BC and the surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC!!!!
We made our own "Family Stonehenge"
This is the F-15 that Jerry works on. They are undefeated in combat. They have never been shot down. They are capable of speeds of over 1800 mph (classified). They are beautiful machines and a good asset to the US. Thanks for serving our country Jerry! We are proud of you!!!!

London, England

This sign was everywhere when you entered a town.
The "eye of london" is the biggest ferris wheel in the world.
This is the Tower of London bridge.
This is Buckinham Palace.
The kids loved the statue at Buckingham Palace.
This is me DRIVING on the wrong side of the road in London in a rain storm.

Trafalger square in London

Emma loved the horses and gaurds.
Westminster Abby in London
Big Ben, Emma can tell you all about it. She had to read about him. It is not the clock, but the bell inside. It weighs 31 tons and took 36 hours to get it to the top.

Emma was used in a street performance, she was terrified after she volunteered because he told her she would have to do a backflip. It was really funny.

Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds

Cambridge University was soooo pretty. This is part of their campus.
The outdoor market in Bury St Edmunds was fun.
More of Cambridge Univ.
These brussel sprouts were neat, I never knew how they were grown, in the giant stem and all, I just thought it looked cool.

Framlilngham Castle, England

This castle is old and not really restored like some of the others. King Henry I owned this castle in 1100. This castle has been used for a prison, fort, poorhouse and a school. The kids had fun, we had a picnic and flew kites in the courtyard.
