Thanksgiving Day Parade and Fireworks

Bon Fires, Light Parades, Snow Ball fights, Christmas Caroling and Fireworks!!!

Thanksgiving Day Parade and Fireworks

We went to the Kenai Thanksgiving Day parade and Fireworks show. It was a light parade and since we have all daylight in the summer when most people do fireworks for the 4th of July, we do our fireworks here in the winter when we have darkness. They did a big bon fire, and gave the kids hot chocolate and cookies. It was fun, there was this big snow hill from plowing and there were a million kids on it, throwing lots of snowballs.

EMMA'S SCHOOL PICTURE

THIS IS EMMA'S SCHOOL PICTURE AND HER STORY BEHIND IT. I DID NOT KNOW SHE ORDERED OR POSED FOR PICTURES UNTIL IT WAS OVER, SHE MADE THIS DECISION ON HER OWN. SHE DID HER OWN HAIR, PICKED HER OUTFIT (SAME ONE AS LAST YEARS PICTURE) PICKED THE POSE, AND USED HER BIRTHDAY MONEY FROM HER DAD AND NANA TO BUY THEM. SHE WAS VERY PROUD OF HERSELF. SHE LOVES HER PICTURES AND THINKS THEY ARE WONDERFUL.
We went to Chena while in North Pole, and it was soooo nice, very hot and lovely!!! Here is Maaret and Jenny enjoying the Chena Hot Springs, ok so only Maarets legs got to enjoy the hot springs but you know what they say, "part or nothing!" and it was worth it!
Don's Birthday (33) at Maarets house Nov 11--- HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON!!!

sledding in fairbanks

we came to fairbanks to visit the sisters and we decided to go sledding. jerry and don did a great job pulling the kids all over, we didnt really have a hill anywhere so we used the 4 wheeler and the big boys! the kids had a great time. i thought it was cold though, about 1 degree outside, which is better than yesterday at -20. so we picked the right day to go sledding. the kids didn't seem to mind.

dave and emmas project

emma was excited to have someone she knew come to look at her poster.

dave and emma did health posters at school. daves was about eating healthy and emmas is about healthy teeth.

daves camping trip

dave was supposed to go camping across the inlet to a remote spot but they got all the way to homer to get on the boat to get ot the camp, but the waves were 15-20 foot swells, so some of the leaders and kids wanted to cancel it so 5 boys and don set up camp in our yard. they had fun and stayed out side, never came in.
